Objects

Lights and things, since 2021

When I get assigned to create an object, I always tend to design light.

It lights up my heart.

For this assignment we needed to make a lamp based on an existing design.

This was hard for me since I always take inspiration from nature, music and other forms. I am not a copycat, since I love being authentic and original.

March, 2021.

The symbiotic observation I encountered when meeting my LED strip with glass, was truly mesmerizing.

At first I wanted to create a bubble atmosphere, but when I did some research I found some similar pieces. (Verhoeven twins) That made me really sad that I was not the only one with this idea, so I had to find something else, since I don't like to be compared.

Since working with glass is very fragile I landed with my bubble festoon. With this accessible and flexible design it can be used in a lot of different places.

December, 2020.

Working with Eylul Kusat was so so wonderful. It felt like we didn't need words to understand each other. The whole process came so naturally.

We wanted to combine LED with experimental resin. After a lot of tests, these "plates" where the most magical in combination.

We learned a lot about how resin works in it's mysterious ways.

May, 2020.

How light reflects and interacts with (coloured) glass is inspirational to me.

I wanted to create a sculpture that makes this magical transition happen.

Made with glass, copper and a lot of patience.
